Whether in spite of or because of its earthy scent, this stuff is undeniably a customer favorite -- and aging skin’s worst enemy. It is rich with ingredients that not only protect your largest organ (that would be your skin), but will keep your complexion glowing all day long.
To give a better picture of this wonder oil, let’s go through the ingredients inside and chat about their benefits.
Immortelle Oil is sourced from a plant that’s bursting with golden yellow flowers. This shrub, native to the Mediternean, is a member of the sunflower family and also called The Curry Plant. We derive the oil cleanly from the plant through a steam distillation process which yields a raw ingredient worth its weight in gold (seriously), versus others who extract the oil with the toxic chemical hexane. Ours comes from carefully harvested plants on the Corsican seaside, and it takes an entire ton of flowers to create a single liter of oil. It’s such a valuable and healing ingredient we felt it deserved a nod in the name of our star product.
Fun fact: This oil has been revered since ancient times for its healing properties, and was presented as a gift to the gods in ancient Greece. Think of treating it as a gift to your skin!
Here are the benefits of this golden elixir:
Powerfully Cleansing: Immortelle Oil is known for its antibacterial properties. Like a mini superhero, it is antimicrobial and is able to fight off infections that develop on the skin. This comes in handy for prevention of conditions like eczema, acne, or psoriasis.
Hydration Nation: This oil is an effective moisturizer that penetrates deeply into your skin -- its emollient properties leaving it noticeably soft to the touch.
Like A Little Doctor: Considered by many as a top ingredient in a “holistic first aid kit”, this oil has been used to help speed the recovery of wounds thanks to its cellular regenerative properties. If you have acne scars that you’d like to fade, Immortelle Oil can help you out.
Glowing Skin, Oh Yes: Nothing beats the effectiveness of this oil as an anti-aging helper. It can smooth skin tone and texture, nurturing your skin to a glow, and have you radiating waves of youthfulness.
A Little About The Scent:
Immortelle oil is one reason our 03 Midnight in Corsica Face Oil has such an intense aroma. While it’s a delightful, prized oil, it packs a pungent, earthy scent that, for some, can take some time to get accustomed to.
The next important ingredient in our amazing serum is Borage Oil. Sourced from the Borago officinalis plant, this oil is known for its extremely high levels of GLA. This is an essential fatty acid that packs a ton of skin benefits. The oil itself is derived from cold-pressing the seeds of the plant into a luscious liquid that we add into our face oil for your benefit.
Here are some of the wonders of Borage Oil that you’ll enjoy:
Inflammation Be Gone!: It is rich in essential fatty acids, which helps to regulate the body's immune system and reduce inflammation (one cause of pimples). In turn, it can also help reduce redness in the skin.
Acne, Who?: The linolenic acid (LA) in this oil helps balance your system, and acts like a hormone that has been shown to help clear acne and promote healthier skin.
See Ya, Atopic Dermatitis!: Another key skin condition that Borage Oil helps clear is Atopic Dermatitis. In one study, participants suffering from AD who were treated with Borage Oil showed positive results, due to the presence of those aforementioned fatty acids.
Combat Dry Skin: If you're experiencing any dryness, it has the power to nourish and hydrate your skin by promoting intracellular moisture. This is a fabulous perk for anyone dealing with tricky eczema.
Sacha Inchi Oil
Next up on the list is Sacha Inchi OIl. This foreign-sounding raw material, sourced by cold-pressing seeds from the pods of the exotic South American Sacha Inchi Tree, is positively loaded with skin-loving properties.
Here’s what you should know about it:
Moisturize All The Things: All skin types will feel smooth and younger after use of Sacha Inchi Oil; Rich in vitamin E, an emollient that soothes and hydrates the skin, Sacha Inchi nourishes the skin naturally.
Reduce Those Lines: Tired of seeing signs of aging on your skin? This oil has high levels of Omega-6 and Omega-3 fatty acids that are known to help the skin barrier.
Balance Uneven Skin: Dark spots and acne scars will get a run for their money since this oil has naturally occurring Vitamin A and antioxidants. Vitamin A is known for its regenerative abilities and can help to fade spots over time.
Get To Know The Scent:
Wondering about the role of this essential oil in the serum? It adds a nutty scent, but can be quite strong to some. This one can take some getting used to, but it’s sooooo worth it. (Just sayin’.)
German Chamomile Oil
Another major, must-mention ingredient is German Chamomile Oil. This deep, dark blue oil comes from cold-pressing the flowers of the plant into a liquid with a startling appearance. In its undiluted form it is so blue it looks like thick, black, used motor oil. This is what gives our 03 Face Oil its ‘Midnight’ blue tint. But it’s not just there to look pretty. Chamomile is known for its brightening abilities, and also it’s aromatherapeutic benefits. The oil is tied to promoting feelings of tranquility and serenity (both in scent and in appearance).
More About The Scent:
This oil, while beautiful, does pack a strong scent. It’s been described as straw with softer, floral notes. But it’s also been described as ‘burnt tires’ and ‘wet ashtrays’. If that sounds unappealing to you (and who could blame you?) what we can assure you is this:
Many people absolutely love it right away. True story. They just do.
Almost everyone who finds the scent off-putting at first reports that it grows on them over time. We have heard many reports from people who said they hated it at first who now truly love it.
Everyone (and we really do mean everyone) who gives it a chance is blown away by the results this wonder product gives them!
That’s a wrap on our solution to anti-aging (that stinks!). We hope that when you choose to try out our personal favorite Face Oil, you’ll share your thoughts with us and the world. Cheers to good skin and glowing complexions!
