With the seasons changing before our eyes, and beach days approaching fast, we couldn’t be more excited to announce our first body oil! We’ve been working hard behind the scenes for years to make this product come to life, and in May it will be available to you. So to get you up to speed and revving with excitement too, we wanted to introduce you to our 08 Buriti Oil.
Made with all-natural, certified organic, plant-based ingredients, this nourishing body oil will provide you with the hydration your skin needs without any questionable additives.
So, without further ado, let’s review what those ingredients are:
Buriti Oil
Known to the indigenous people of the Amazon as the "Tree of life,” this oil comes from the fruit of the Buriti tree. This unbelievable tree grows throughout South America, Central Brazil and the Amazon basin. The beauty of our body oil gets its color from the fleshy, yellow pulp found inside the tree’s fruit which is then cold-pressed into a golden liquid that carries all sorts of benefits for your body (can we get a woo-hoo?)
With a high vitamin and antioxidant count, this body oil is highly emollient and has anti-inflammatory properties to help soothe the skin. A perfect body oil for dry skin thanks to its Vitamin E content, it can help smooth fine lines and deeply hydrate even the most water-starved complexions.
Plus, buriti oil is one of the richest sources for beta-carotene which is a prominent anti-aging antioxidant that helps to protect the skin from sun or environmental damages* (see, we told you, you’ll be beach ready!).
Kalahari Melon Seed Oil
Combined with Buriti Oil in the gorgeous glass bottle is Kalahari melon seed oil. This oil is sourced from what’s called a wild watermelon. Growing in the plains of Southern Africa, this yellow or pale green melon isn’t loved for its tasty pulp like its American counterpart, but rather the seeds its precious seeds. These seeds are dried out and cold-pressed into a beautiful golden oil, which is famously used for its smoothing, regenerative properties.
The Kalahari melon seed oil is included in our natural body oil as it is rich in vitamins and minerals to support a healthy complexion. It’s particularly well-known for its high linoleic acid content which helps to unclog pores and remove excess sebum from your skin (goodbye, acne).
What’s more, it contains a high level of Omegas which are known for their ability to help repair damaged skin and lessen the appearance of scars. This is perfect for those of you who need a little TLC anywhere on your body.
Petitgrain Sur Fleur
Wondering if this is a body oil that smells good? You betcha it is. The body oil fragrance comes from a cruelty-free and non-toxic source, petitgrain sur fleur.
The fragrant oil itself is made from the steam distilled leaves, twigs, and post-harvest orange blossoms of the bitter orange tree.
So, as you see, it’s a little french and a little fab. This floral scent provides a light, fresh and green floral aroma to the body oil which is the perfect complement to summer days.
We really took the time to decide on the consistency, texture and scent to bring you nothing but the best in a versatile body oil. Our hope is that you’re able to use this bottle in more ways than one. You can use the body oil in the shower as a final step of hydration before stepping out, or you can use it as a cleansing body oil to fight off acne-prone skin.
Overall, our goal was to make a natural body oil that not only worked well but smelled great (and, if we do say so ourselves… we did it).
