The Simplest Skincare Ritual For Dry Skin

When it comes to caring for your skin, we believe that simple is the way to go. After all, with everything you have going on during the day why should you do anything other than enjoy your skincare ritual? That’s why we want to present to you the simplest skincare ritual you can do during the colder months to ward off dry skin and bring on an enviable glow.

How to Transition Skin From Warm To Cold Weather

Sure, the summer brings with it intolerable heat waves, sweat, sunburn, and blemishes, however, winter has its own set of challenges and needs to be treated a bit differently than your summer skincare woes.

Here’s a quick rundown of all the swap-outs you should make now that cold weather has arrived:

  1. In the summer, humidity runs rampant -- in the winter, not so much. To make sure that your skin stays hydrated while you sleep, swap out the fan for a humidifier to moisten the air as you slumber.

  2. Ditch your foaming cleanser for something milkier, like a cream cleanser or (our personal favorite) a cleansing balm.

  3. Swap out toners with astringent properties for more hydrating, calming options.

  4. Swap out your lightweight moisturizer for a creamier version.

  5. Forget using serums from summer months and use ones that are hydrating, and protect against environmental factors.

  6. Start using an eye serum… period.

  7. Make sure that you regularly exfoliate your skin with gentler exfoliants that will leave you softened as you slough away dead skin cells.

  8. Incorporate a body oil into your post-shower routine (psst… Stay tuned, we have something coming very soon to help you out in this department!)

The Simplest Skincare Routine For Dry Skin

Now that you’ve made important swaps in your medicine cabinet to prep for the winter months, let’s walk through our favorite skincare ritual. Note: We feature our products because we know they work well, and hey, we made them so they’d give you results you’ll love! Feel free to swap with what you have.

Step 1: Cleanse Your Face

The first thing you’ll want to do is cleanse your face. For this, our 02 Cleansing Balm-- Overnight Mask is the ideal product.

This thick, luxurious balm is made with nutrient-rich ingredients that work to detoxify and balance the skin while it cleans.

Some of its key players are:

  • Passion Fruit Oil - A rich emollient that’s intensely hydrating.

  • Papaya Oil - Contains naturally-occurring enzyme, papain, to gently exfoliate the skin.

  • Buriti Oil - Known to boost collagen levels and protect against environmental woes.

Together, these rare, plant-based ingredients work to renew your complexion, leaving it brighter and smoother.

Step 2: Mask It Up

After you’ve cleansed, it’s time to add an extra dose of hydration to your skin. This is where our 06 Royal Jelly & Enzymes Hydrating Mask comes in handy.

This 100% organic face mask has a very high ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity) due to the large amounts of antioxidants present in its ingredients.

Here’s what you’ll find inside:

  • Royal Jelly Powder - Naturally contains silicon which can help with skin elasticity.

  • Goji Berry Powder - Can help to firm skin and minimize the appearance of sun damage.

  • Bee Pollen Powder - Contains extraordinary levels of nucleic acids which help to restore RNA/DNA and stimulate cell growth.

When used 2-3 times weekly, you can expect your skin to feel hydrated, healthy, and radiant. It’ll be like winter isn’t even here!

Step 3: Use Targeted Face Oils

After you’ve developed a glow with your face mask, it’s time to make sure you use a face oil that will target your winter woes. Our 03 Midnight In Corsica Face Oil is the perfect companion product to help you out.

Formulated with dry skin in mind, this is the ultimate helper in keeping itchy, flaky complexions at bay!

Here are some key ingredients:

  • Immortelle Oil - Known to be one of the most reparative oils on the market, it has healing and moisturizing properties to refresh the skin.

  • Borago Oil - Has anti-inflammatory properties that can heal and soothe troubled/dry skin.

  • Sacha Incha Oil - Packed with antioxidants to fight off free radicals that cause signs of early aging.

As you can see, we made this face oil with one mission in mind: defeat any enemies that may cross your skin’s barrier. (So, it can definitely stand up to a few months of dropping temperatures, we pinky promise.)

With that, we send you off to make these much-needed swaps and show winter who’s boss.

Be sure to remember that simpler is better when it comes to caring for your skin, and it shouldn’t take an army of products when quality ingredients are in play to give you that rosy glow year-round.
